Portal configuration

Portal configuration enables Platform Admins to modify the Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications interface portal.
To access the Portal configuration page, follow these steps:
  1. From the Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications dashboard, click the Main menu on the left side.
  2. Select
    Admin
    .
  3. Select
    Global Settings
    , and click
    Portal
    ; you will be redirected to the Portal configuration page.
Once in the
Portal configuration
page, you can perform the following actions:

Subscriptions

The process of registering a subscription enables the Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications portal to dynamically update applications subscriptions.
Registering a new subscription
: To register a new subscription, click the
Register subscription +
button, and complete the information required:
  • subscription ID
    : Enter the subscription ID, which must be the file name of the metadata file for the subscription. The metadata file defines the placement of the subscription in the Kyndryl Modern Operations subscriptions portal. Spaces and special characters are not supported.
  • URL
    : Enter the URL for the subscription. This URL must be a link to the metadata file.
  • Click
    Save
    .
  • Refresh the Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications portal to see the subscription in the console that is specified in the metadata file.
Optionally, if a link to the subscription set up instructions for system administrators exists, go to the Links tab of the Portal configurations page, and follow the steps to edit a new link and fill out the
Documentation link
field.
Now, in the portal, system administrators can see the letter
i
next to the subscription's name. This link, if used, displays the documentation for that subscription.
Editing a registered subscription
: To edit an subscription that has already been registered, see the list of subscriptions that appear on the
Registration
tab and click the
overflow menu
next to the subscription that you want to edit and select
Edit
.
Deleting a registered subscription
: To delete an subscription that has already been registered, see the list of subscriptions that appear on the
Registration
tab and click the
overflow menu
next to the subscription that you want to delete and select
Delete
.
Some subscriptions cannot be edited or deleted due to the source of the subscription's registration.
As an administrator, you are often faced with the need to customize and configure your portal links easily to have a quicker access to your information and to create a better user experience.
Adding a new link
: To add a new link, click the
Add Link
button, and complete the information required:
  • Category
    : Select an application from the list of options. For example, select
    Consumption
    .
  • Name
    : Enter the display name for the link. For example, enter
    Manual Approvals
    if you want to create a link to the approval order page.
  • Source URL
    : Enter the URL for the link. For example, obtain this link from the URL displayed for the
    Orders page
    in your Enterprise Marketplace deployment.
  • Open in same tab
    Select this option if you want the link to open in the same tab; otherwise, the link will open in a separate tab.
  • Access Roles
    : Select all the roles needing access to this link.
  • Documentation link
    : Enter the URL for a documentation reference within Kyndryl Docs. This helps your user understand better the product.
  • Click
    Save
    .
  • Refresh the tenant to see the new link added.
Links to external URLs must use
http:
or
https:
the tenant recognizes only addresses using http: and https: as external addresses. The tenant identifies addresses without http: or https: as internal URLs.
Editing and added link
: To edit a link that has already been added, see the list of links that appear on the
Links
tab and click the overflow menu next to the link that you want to edit and select
Edit
.
Deleting and added link
: To delete a link that has already been added, see the list of links that appear on the
Links
tab and click the
overflow menu
next to the link that you want to delete and select
Delete
.

Tasks integration

As an Administrator, you are often faced with the need to customize and configure your most used tasks, so your users have a quicker access to the information needed.
Adding a task
: To add a new task, click the
Add Task +
button, and complete the information required:
  • Application
    : Select one among the list of options.
  • Role
    : Select one among the list of options.
  • Name
    : Enter the task name.
  • URL
    : Enter the URL for the task.
  • Click
    Save
    .
  • Refresh the tenant to see the new task added.
Editing an existing task
: To edit a task that has already been added, see the list of tasks that appear on the Common Tasks tab and click the overflow menu next to the task that you want to edit and select Edit.
Deleting an existing task
: To delete a task that has already been added, see the list of tasks that appear on the
Common Tasks
tab and click the
Main Menu
next to the task that you want to delete and select
Delete
.

Portal admin email

Set up your preferred portal admin email address to the Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications so users can easily contact you.
Adding a portal admin email address
: To add the portal admin email address, go to Portal configuration and click the
Portal Admin Email
tab. Simply enter the admin email and click
Save
.
Editing the portal admin email address
: To edit the portal admin email address, follow the same steps as to adding a portal admin email address: go to Portal Settings and click the
Portal Admin Email
tab. Simply enter the admin email and click
Save
.
Deleting the portal admin email address
: To delete the portal admin email address, go to Portal Settings, and click the
Portal Admin Email
tab. Simply highlight and delete the current email address, and click
Save
.
