Introduction to Shared Services
Explore all shared services available along with their capabilities and possible integrations.
Shared Services are a set of features that are used by other Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications. For example, budgets are used by both Enterprise Marketplace and Cost & Asset Management.
The concept of Shared Services covers a wide range of capabilities that allow you to perform configurations in the system to be able to make the most out of what Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications has to offer.
These capabilities benefit you by letting you control, for example, budgets that you set aside during a specific period for service offerings, allowing you to have greater control of your costs across the entire application.
Shared Services functions and capabilities
The following sections provide detailed information about performing the functions of Shared Services:
- Budget management: The Budget management feature is intended to assist financial analysts and billing analysts in creating budgetary units and their associated budgets in the application.
- Budgets, budget policies and budget sets: Add budgets, budget sets, and learn all the details related to budget policies.
- Control and operating budget: Define control budgets and operating budget.
- Corporate currency configuration: Set up and configure the corporate currency for your tenant.
- Default supported currencies: Learn all about the supported currencies in Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications.
- Currency conversion: Convert your existing currency to any other supported currency.
- Onboard currencies to instance currencies: Configure new currencies on your tenant.
- Job management: Schedule periodic tasks in Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications.
- Pricing management: Create a pricing policy to discount or surcharge any order or cost.
- Rate cards: Price a service based on its usage and it can be used to price any service whose usage can be obtained in public clouds, private clouds, or datacenters.
- Report management: Configure and manage the reporting service in Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications.
- Tag schema: Check how compliant your tags are against tag definitions.
Shared Services integrations
Shared Services integrates with Kyndryl Bridge. To be able to access Shared Services from Kyndryl Bridge menu, you first must subscribe applications such as Cost & Asset Management and Enterprise Marketplace, that directly support Shared Services, in the Kyndryl Bridge Marketplace.

Shared Services also integrates with Service Provider. Shared Services for Service Provider are a set of features that Service Providers provide to their Customer Tenants as part of the services they offer. It supports the following services:

- Pricing Policy Viewer:Read-only role for Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications Pricing Rules.
- Report Administrator:Administrator role for management of Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications Report Engine.
- Report Viewer:Administrator role for Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications Report Engine to view generated reports.
- System Administrator:Administrative role for management of Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications Job Services.
