The Quotes feature is currently available only in multitenant (MT) instances.
The Enterprise Marketplace Quotes feature enables buyers to generate quotes with multiple catalogs. They can also request multiple quantities for each catalog in the quote and view the detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for each quote on the
Quote Details
page. To learn more about navigating to the different services from each tenant, refer to
Landing page navigation or
Kyndryl Bridge Landing page navigation. Buyers can also place orders using quotes.
Quotes also provides the following features:
Create and manage multiple quotes
Configure and add catalogs to a quote
View the updated catalog count and the saved quotes
Delete the quote items from quotes
Edit the quantity for service using the
Edit Catalog
option on the
Quote Details
page
View the quote BOM
View the total estimated cost for the all the catalogs in the quote
Share a quote
Manage the quote lifecycle
Duplicate a quote
Compare quotes
Create an order from a quote
Add new items and increase the number of items in a quote
Create a quote based on a stack (an already provisioned catalog)
The system automatically updates and saves the quote when a catalog is added or removed from the quote.
In Kyndryl Modern Operations Applications, navigate to the
Quote
page. This page displays all the quotes that are owned by the current user. On the main page, in the common tasks you can click
Manage quotes
or
Create a Quote
. To learn more about navigating to the different services from each tenant, refer to
Landing page navigation or
Kyndryl Bridge Landing page navigation.
Reserving stacks gives you the service you need only for the time you have reserved it. A reserved stack provides a discount of up to 75% over on-demand tack pricing. Additional parameters for reserved tacks require regional and stack definition, including defining the region and service area in the region, as well as service platform and length of offering.
If you want to create a quote for a catalog, complete the following steps:
Click the
Actions
icon for the catalog that you want a quote for and select
Generate Quote
, or click
Generate Quote
on the details page for the catalog. On the
Main Parameters
tab, enter the following information for your quote and click
Next
:
Quote Item Name:
Enter a name for the stack.
Quantity:
If you are allowed to select multiples of the catalog, select how many you want in the quote.
Select a quote option:
Create new quote:
If you select this, enter a
Quote Name
and a
Quote Purpose
for the new quote.
Add to an existing quote:
If you select this, a list of all of the quotes that you own is displayed. Select the one that you want to add to.
Select the team you belong to from the
Who is this order for
list.
Organization:
Enter the organization that you belong to. This field should be automatically filled after you select the team.
In the
Select Context
section, select the context that you want to use. This context is based on the team and organization that you select.
Select the account you want to use from the
Which account are you provisioning to
section.
On the
Additional Parameters
tab, configure the additional parameters to reserve stacks. These parameters vary based on the provider and catalog. Complete all the required fields on this page and click
Next
.
Add managed services to your quote, if Integrated Managed Services (IMI) is part of your solution. Infrastructure that includes middleware can be added as an add-on managed service. The option to apply add-on services to the quote appears in the window after service additional parameter configuration is completed and before quote review. Add-on managed services include the following types of services:
VMware with the Websphere application
IMI custom operations
Complete the following steps to add a managed service to a quote:
Select the desired managed service. Only applicable services are available for selection.
Enter a name for the add-on managed service. The name can be, for example, a name that relates to the date or the purpose of the managed service.
Select the name of the provider account.
Click
Next
to save the configuration.
Close the
Add-On Configuration
page.
Check the status bar near the top of the
Configure Service
window to ensure the managed service add-on has been applied to the quote.
On the
Review Order
tab, ensure that the configured service is correct by reviewing the service details and additional details. A summary including price appears on the right side of the window. Click
Previous
to return to the tab with the incorrect information and change it as needed. Otherwise, click
Next
.
To create your quote, click
Add to Quote
. If the quote is added successfully, then you are taken to the
Quote
page.
You can share any quotes that you own with any access group that you are a member of. You can determine when you are sharing whether the members of that access group can View or Edit the quote.
To share a quote, complete these steps:
On the
Quotes
pages, click the
Actions
icon for the quote you want to share and select
Share
.
On the
Sharing Permissions
pane, select the access group that you want to share the quote with in the
Choose New Access Group
field. Only access groups that you are a member of will be visible. All access tags assigned to that group will be applied.
Select whether to provide
View
or
Edit
permissions:
View:
Users in the access group can view the quote details, create an order from the quote, and export and duplicate it.
Edit:
Users in the access group can perform all management tasks on the quote as if they owned it.
Click
Save
. An email is sent to all members of the access group, and the quote will be displayed on their
Quotes
page.
Owners, Editors, and Viewers can duplicate a quote in any status. Duplicated quotes are created in the
Draft
status. You can duplicate a quote using the following methods:
On the
Quote
page, click the
Actions
icon for the quote and select
Duplicate
.
On the
Details
page for the quote, click the
Actions
icon at the upper right and select
Duplicate
.
You can compare two or three quotes from the
Quotes
page. To learn more about navigating to the different services from each tenant, refer to
Landing page navigation or
Kyndryl Bridge Landing page navigation. This page displays all the quotes that are owned by the current user. To compare these quotes side by side, complete the following steps:
Select up to three quotes by selecting the checkbox located to the left of each quote.
Click the
Compare
button that appears in the action bar after you select at least two quotes to compare the selected quotes.
The
Compare Quote
page that is displayed contains the following tabs:
Grid View
: Displays a summary of the quotes being compared, including the total estimated cost and the estimated quote total. You can arrange your quotes by
Category
or
Provider
by clicking the dropdown menu under the
Arrange By
header.
Details View
: Displays the quote details for the selected quotes in two blocks of information:
Quote Details
and
Quote Items
. To explore the available catalogs and stacks that you can add to the quotes, this page includes links to the
Catalog
and
Ordered Services
pages.
In both the
Grid View
and
Details View
, you can deselect one of the quotes when comparing three quotes. Click the
Clear
button for the desired quote located in the upper right.
You can delete a quote only when it is in the Inactive state. For this purpose, use one of the following methods:
On the
Quote
page, click the
Actions
icon for the quote and select
Delete
.
On the
Details
page for the quote, click the
Actions
icon at the upper right and select
Delete
.
Managing the quote lifecycle
Quotes can be in the following statuses:
Draft:
In this status, you can edit the quote, add new quote items, edit existing quote items, and delete quote items. You can move the quote from
Draft
status to
Review
or
Inactive
status.
Review:
In this status, you can view the quote and quote items, but you cannot edit them. You can move quotes from
Review
status to
Draft
,
Ready
, or
Inactive
status.
Ready:
In this status, you can view the quote and quote items, but you cannot edit them. You can place an order from a quote only if the quote is
Ready
. You can move a quote from
Ready
status to
Inactive
status only.
Inactive:
You can view the quote. This is the only status where you can delete a quote.
You can change the status of a quote using these methods, subject to restrictions based the status:
On the
Quote
page, click the
Actions
icon for the quote and select the status that you want to change to.
On the
Details
page for the quote, click the
Actions
icon at the upper right and select the status that you want to change to.
Creating an order from a quote
You can create an order from a quote that uses the selections that you made while creating that quote, including any add-on services. This process can be done only when quote is in the
Ready
status. If you want to create an order from a quote, complete the following steps:
Start the process using one of the following methods:
On the
Quote
page, click the
Actions
icon for the quote and select
Create order
.
On the
Details
page for the quote, click the
Actions
icon at the upper right and select
Create order
.
A list of quote items/services is displayed that you have access to based on context and CPP/visibility rules. Select quote items/services you want to include in the order and then click
Create Order
.
On
View All Carts
page, click
Submit Order
for the cart you just created. If additional configuration is required, you will see
Additional configuration required
rather than the
Submit Order
selection. Select this to display the cart items with an
Incomplete
label next to any cart item that needs additional configuration. Complete all these items and then click
Submit Order
.
Adding to previously ordered services takes effect automatically by clicking the
Actions
icon for the catalog and selecting
Submit Operation
. You do not need to go through the Cart/Submit Order process.
Managed service add-on capability
Infrastructure that includes middleware can be added to quotes as an add-on managed service. Enterprise Marketplace allows customers to add managed services at the stack component level.
Add-on services can include the following:
VMware with the Websphere application
Integrated Managed Services (IMI) custom operations
Enterprise Marketplace displays the applications and environments selected for your quote while you configure the quote. The further along the configuration, the more selected applications and environments are displayed. Note that only applications and environments compatible with the chosen configurations are displayed. You are only required to complete the fields that are necessary for calculating the price for a service while generating a quote.
Creating a quote from stacks
In addition to creating quotes for catalogs, you can also create quotes from stacks that you have already provisioned listed on the
Ordered Services
page. For this purpose, complete the following steps:
On the
Ordered Services
page, click the
Actions
icon for the stack and selecting
Submit Operation
. You do not need to go through the Cart/Submit Order process. next to the stack that you want to create a quote from and select
Duplicate Service
→
Generate a Quote
.
Follow the steps in
Creating a quote. The fields will already be filled in based on the stack you selected. Alter them as needed.
Adding to previously ordered services takes effect automatically by clicking the
Actions
icon for the stack and selecting
Submit Operation
. You do not need to go through the Cart/Submit Order process.
The following is a known issue with the Quotes feature:
For Amazon Web Services, the AWS services template must be updated to the latest version before the Quotes feature can be used.
