Amazon Web Services virtual machine connectivity with a key pair
A key pair is a set of security credentials used to prove user identity when connecting to a service instance.
The key pair includes a public key and a private key, and is created in the service provider account.
The private key is required to obtain the password used to log into your service instance. This functionality enables basic virtual machine (VM) connectivity.
In this current release, customers can enable VM connectivity by downloading a private key file from the provisioned Amazon Web Services (AWS) service instance in inventory.
A private key file can only be downloaded

. After downloading a private key, make sure the file is stored in a safe place. Enterprise Marketplace does not store the private key, nor is the key available in a log or database file.
Who can download a service instance private key?
Any Buyer role who has created a key pair can download the key pair's private key file.
