Troubleshooting

Learn and understand how to troubleshoot CAM issues.
Troubleshooting is a systematic approach to solving a problem. The goal of troubleshooting is to determine why something does not work as expected and how to resolve the problem
  1. Mapping between the Cost & Asset Management Platform (CAM) cost reports and IBM Cloud invoices is not consistent
    :
    • The CAM cost report extract fields that map to the IBM Cloud (SoftLayer) billing reports are determined in a certain order:
      • For the Estimated Bills reports, the CAM cost report
        Asset Name
field maps to the first field that occurs in this list from the IBM Cloud billing report: Hostname, Resource Name, Notes, Provider Asset ID [Resource Table ID], and Provider AssetType [Category Code].
      • For the Anniversary Bills reports, the CAM cost report
        Asset Name
field maps to the first field that occurs in this list from the IBM Cloud billing report: Hostname, Notes, Provider Asset ID [Resource Table ID], and Provider AssetType [Category Code].”
  2. Bills include a service end date
    • For months where the service end date does not occur, bills for that month still include the service end date for reference only.
  3. External vault support does not extend to existing accounts:
    • When adding either a billing or an asset account, you can specify either an internal or an external vault type. If you choose an internal vault type, the credentials related to the provider continue to be stored in an internal vault using the Kyndryl applications credential service. If you choose an external vault type, you must save the credentials in an external vault and provide the credential reference ID whenever you create or update the account. However, for existing accounts that have already been configured, you cannot update your configuration to use an external vault.
