Asset categorization

Increase the value of analysis by using the Asset Category tool.
The
Asset categorization
 tool helps you organize and increase the value of analysis when using categories. It allows you to assign a category to services with unknown category by selecting a predicted category value or by selecting your own.
The
Asset Category
 is mapped to
Asset Type
 for assets obtained from the provider, by using the
Machine Learning Model (ML model)
 from data science to obtain the
Predicted Category
. The predicting category is the main output of the
(ML model)
, along with mapping to Asset Type.
The
Predicted Category
is based on previous data obtained from the provider while the
Confidence Level
 column refers to the confidence level in
percentage
 with which the prediction is done by the ML model. You can use this data as reference to Assign a category.
Follow steps to find the
Asset Categorization
 tool:
  1. Open the
    Tenant
    , click the
    Main menu
    and go to
    CAM
    .
  2. Click
    Settings
     and from the drop-down menu, click
    Asset  Categorization
     .
On the
Asset Categorization
 page, there are two tabs with data to assign a category to an asset or modify the category. The
Assign Category tab
 gives you the possibility to assign a category to an unknown service. You will see a data table containing the following information:
  • Provider
  • Asset Type
  • Predicted Category
  • Confidence Level
  • Assign Category
  • Assigned Category
The Provider, Asset Type, Predicted Category, and Confidence Level columns on the data table can be reorder by clicking the arrows next to the name of the columns.
The
Modify Category tab
 gives the ability to update previous categories. A table is displayed with specific details:
  • Provider
  • Asset Type
  • Modify Category
  • Assigned Category
In addition, on the
Asset Categorization
 page, on the search bar, you can type the name of the asset or provider that you are looking to modify.

Assign Category

This tab shows all the ‘Unknown’ services while allowing you to select a new category and assign it to the service.
To assign a category to an unknown service, follow the steps below:
  1. On the
    Assign Category tab
    , go to the
    Assign Category
     column. The column displays a predefined category per asset.
  2. To assign a category, go to the line of the unknown asset and click the arrow located under the
    Assign Category
     column and choose a category from the drop-down menu (a category analytics, analytics reserved, apps, artificial intelligence or block chain.).
  3. Click the
    Assign
     to assign the category. The application responds by showing the new category under the
    Assigned Category
     column with a green check mark next to it.
  4. To undo the change, click the
    Undo
     button highlighted in blue located on the left side of the
    Assigned Category
     column.
The updates are reflected in all dashboards after next ingestion.

Modifying Category

This tab shows old assets which category was previously selected and gives the opportunity to update the category. To modify an asset to a new category, follow the steps below:
  1. On the
    Modify Category tab
    , go to the
    Assign Category
     column. The column displays a predefined category per asset.
  2. To modify the category, go to the line of the asset and click the arrow located under the
    Assign Category
    column and choose a category from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click the
    Assign
     button highlighted in blue to assign the new category.
  4. The
    Assigned Category
     will reflect the category assigned with a green check next to it.
  5. To undo the change, click the
    Undo
     button highlighted in blue located on the left side of the
    Assigned Category
    column.
The updates are reflected in all dashboards after next ingestion.
