Unknown asset status

Asset status can be Unknown in certain circumstances and could be found on the Asset Dashboard.
A few examples of why the status is unknown is: when assets have no recognized location or region, the asset has been removed/terminated or if it is no longer available by the provider, the report still shows the asset on the Asset dashboard, however, the status is "Unknown".
Unknown status can also mean one of the following:
  1. Asset status cannot be determined because the data is too far back in history.
  2. Utilization cannot be determined as a result of using storage as a service.
  3. Non-geographic locations, like IBM Cloud's IMS region or Azure's Unspecified location.
  4. Other conditions return the message unknown in other parts of Cost and Asset Management as well.
  5. Asset is terminated/ deleted, for e.g. Virtual Machine, and is no longer available with the provider. Assets are displayed in the asset dashboard if it is discovered from provider anytime during the month.
