Learn about VM, its key features, benefits, and functionalities.
Vulnerability Management (VM) is a continuous, proactive process of identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, remediating, and reporting on security vulnerabilities in systems and software. VM provides information about the following metrics:
Scan Count
: It displays the number of vulnerability scans performed. You can view the VM scan details by clicking on the
More Info
link available below the scan count.
Scanned Asset Count:
It displays the number of assets included in the performed scans. You can view the host drill details by clicking on the
More Info
link available below the scan count.
Unique Vulnerability Group Count:
It displays the number of unique vulnerabilities identified during asset scans.
Total Vulnerability Group count:
It displays the total number of vulnerabilities
identified during asset scans. You can view the Vulnerability group count details by clicking on the
More Info
link available below the scan count. You can download this information in CSV, PNG, and JPG formats by clicking on the
Download Menu
option available in the right corner of each section.
Source:
It
displays the number of sources available.
Scan Success Rate:
It
displays
the percentage of scans that are completed, cancelled, and failed.
Vulnerability By Severity:
It displays the
number of vulnerabilities based on the severity. The severity has been categorized as follows:
Critical: Priority 5 (Highest)
High: Priority 4
Medium: Priority 3
Low: Priority 2
Informative: Priority 1 (Lowest)
Vulnerability Age:
Refers to the length of time a security vulnerability has existed within a system or network. This metric provides insights into the potential risks and urgency of patching or mitigating the vulnerability. It displays the vulnerability based on the age, for example: aged 91-120, Aged >120, Aged <=30 days, etc.
Vulnerabilities By Operating System:
It
displays the number of vulnerabilities based on the operating system.
Vulnerabilities Over Time:
It
displays the number of vulnerabilities over a period in a line graph and tabular format.
For a metric,
you can select the graphical or tabular format from the
