Monitoring - Enhance KPI

Acquire a basic understanding of the data presented on the Monitoring - Enhance KPI page.
The Monitoring - Enhance KPI page presents data visualizations that enable a detailed understanding of network device performance. Hardware such as stacked switches and other SNMP nodes produces data during daily operation. The page presents details derived from observable KPIs in the form of visual instruments. In addition to data visualizations, the page provides a quick filter to enable the narrowing of data without complex queries. Parameters include the following:
  • Customer Name: Devices owned by specific customers.
  • GSMA Code: Devices associated with a specific GSMA code.
  • Data Source: Any supported data source used to track network devices and operating systems.
  • Switch Stack Name: Specify a network switch stack.
Each parameter allows a boolean Include/Exclude option. Click
Include
to limit the result to include your selection. Click
Exclude
to limit the result to exclude your selection.
Hover over the right upper corner to to present the display options icon (elipsis). The following display options for the visualization are supported:
  • Settings: Apply a custom time range or other options.
  • Inspect: Download a report.
  • Maximize: Enlarge the visualization to see more information. The control toggles to Minimize.
The page presents the following data visualizations:
  • Switch Stack Node Status:
    • Total Stack Switches: The number of switch stack nodes.
    • Master switches: The number of Master switches.
    • Member switches: The number of member switches.
    • Standby Switches: The number of standby switches.
    • Down Switches: The number of switches that were down during the selected time range.
    • Switch Stack Summary: A table with details about each switch stack node. Details are provide for each switcch in every stack.
    • Switch Roles: A graph displaying the switch count by role (Master, Standby, and Member), by date and time at three hour intervals.
  • SNMP Node Status:
    • Total Nodes: The total number of Solarwinds nodes.
    • Nodes Down: The total number of nodes that were down during the selected time range.
    • SNMP - Nodes Summary: A table providing details about each Solarwinds node (1,000 node limit). Filter by any parameter in the table such as
      Status Description
      .
  • SNMP Unresponsive:
    • Nodes Status Warning: All nodes that had a warning status within the selected time range.
    • SNMP Unresponsive nodes: A table providing details about each Solarwinds node that have a status of
      Down
. Filter by any parameter in the table such as
      Status Description
      .
  • Module Failure/Error Summary:
    • Module Failure/Error Summary: A table providing hardware details for each node that failed during the selected time range.
    • Top 10 Hardware Devices: A pie chart with 10 segments, each displaying the percentage of hardware of a specific type. The 10 most common are displayed.
    • Hardware Category Status Bar: A bar chart providing the following details for all hardware assets:
      • Status: The current status of the node.
      • # of devices: The number of devices of the current type.
      • Hardware Category: The category ID for the current devices .
      • Name. The category name of the current devices.
Hover over each bar for these details.
    • Hardware Category Status Pie: A pie chart depicting the relative number of all nodes by status such as Up, Critical, and Unavailable.
  • Failover Status For F5:
    • Total F5 Nodes:The number of F5 nodes.
