Network OS Insights Widgets

Determine mission critical insights into OS hotspots by country and lifecycle status.
Kyndryl supports two widgets that report critical insights into network device operating systems:
  • Top 5 Countries Network OS: Number of network device operating systems by country limited to the five largest volume by number.
  • Top 5 Lifecycle Statuses Network OS: Number of network device operating systems by lifecycle status limited to the five largest volumes by number.
These widgets provide at-a-glance visibility of device operating systems regarding location and lifecycle status. A View details link navigates to the Inventory Overview. There you can view statistical details that breakdown OS locations lifecycle status for your IT estate inventory.

Supported vendors

Kyndryl supports all models from the following vendors for all EOL and EOS widgets:
  • Cisco
  • F5
  • Checkpoint
  • Fortinet
  • Palo Alto

Pre-requisites

The following items are prerequisite to view and add Network & Edge widgets:
  • Access to I-AIOps OU
  • Access to Network & Edge (Manage network service) in Kyndryl Bridge
  • Network inventory available in the inventory service, with vendor, model, and populated EOL metadata.
  • EOL/EOS consolidated dashboard available with filtering for Category = network.
  • You must have Administrator privilege to add widgets to the landing page dashboard and to edit them.

Configuration

Perform the following procedure to configure the landing page dashboard:
  1. Open Kyndryl Bridge console.
  2. From the hamburger menu, select
    Services
    Network
    .
  3. Confirm the network landing page includes the EOL and EOS widgets.
  4. Add or edit widgets through the dashboard designer.
  5. Place the widget at the primary grid size, then adjust for other screen sizes.

Network & Edge OS Insights widgets access and use

Use the following procedure to access and exercise the EOL and EOS summary widgets:
  1. Open Kyndryl Bridge → Services → Network.
  2. Locate the EOL widget showing lifecycle segments in a donut chart.
  3. Hover over chart segments to view counts and percentages.
  4. Click View Details to navigate to the EOL/EOS Insights page.
  5. Toggle between donut chart and list data (per widget).
  6. Maximize individual widgets one at a time.
  7. Download data or graphic in the following formats:
    • CSV
    • PNG
    • JPG

Inventory Overview

The Inventory Overview page is available from the View Details link located at the bottom right of each widget. The page contains the following elements:
  • Filter array: Filter data using fields such as Customer name, lifecycle status, and Device.
  • Summary data array:
    • All Records
    • Records in PRODUCTION
    • Servers
    • Storage
    • Network
    • Unique Assembly Countries
  • Top 5 Item Classes – Types of network hardware such as network devices, servers and storage devices, the five largest by number.
  • Top 5 Lifecycle Statuses Top 5 Item Classes – Types of network hardware such as network devices, servers and storage devices, the five largest by number.
  • Top 5 Lifecycle Statuses – Number of network device operating systems by lifecycle status limited to the five largest volumes by number.
  • End of Life/End of Support – Number of devices that have either reached EOL/EOS or will in less than a year or will in less than 2 years.
  • Top 5 Subcategories – Within network devices, the numbers of network device types such as rack server, blade server, or Windows, the five largest by number.
  • Top 5 Countries – Device locations by country, the largest five by number.
  • Top 5 Assembly Country – Device countries of origin, the five largest by number.
  • Individual Inventory Records: Device details table.

Troubleshooting

Use the following guide to ensure your data is visible and correct:
  • If data is missing, confirm EOL metadata is included in the inventory service.
  • If the widget is not visible, confirm user permissions and page configuration.
