Learn how the common logging service centralizes logs and unifies monitoring and tracing in Grafana for secure, account-level troubleshooting.
Overview
The common logging service centralizes application logs to enable visualization, monitoring and correlation of logs and traces in a unified Grafana interface, helping teams troubleshoot faster. Centralized logging is essential for effectively leveraging application logs and facilitating efficient access for troubleshooting purposes.
Additionally, application monitoring plays a critical role within an observability stack by enabling teams to assess whether specific metrics may have contributed to a system failure. Tracing further assists in pinpointing the exact location within the architecture where faults occur.
Offered as a shared service for all apps and services, it uses Grafana for dashboarding and integrates with Bridge IAM to ensure users see only data for authorized accounts. Users can switch between applications or services in the Logging dashboard. This release supports account-level logging and excludes the global plane.
Roles
Once on the logging page, access to view logs in Bridge requires either the Platform Admin or Platform Viewer role.

Log data retention
Log data is stored for a maximum period of 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
Viewing logs
The logging service in Bridge can be accessed from the Manage & Administer section, where the Logging & Monitoring dashboard loads within the console.
