Onboarding Network Devices

Discover how to concurrently onboard disparate network monitoring devices to your environment using the automated onboarding feature.
Kyndryl Network and Edge supports multiple network devices and has automated the ability to concurrently onboard all supported devices in your environment. Administrators access the onboarding feature through the AIOps Administrative portal.
The administrative portal contains the following features:
  • Download CSV Template:
A CSV file containing all the required fields that you must complete for every device you intend to onboard.
  • Add Device:
An onboarding wizard that steps you through the process of onboarding your network monitoring devices using the completed CSV form.
  • Network device table:
A table that displays accounts for all network devices. Click an account to view all devices that have been submitted including pertinent detauls and onboarding status by Network Monitoring device. The services recognizes all devices in association with a single account and they must be uploaded in that context. Example: you have devices on your network owned by three different accounts: ABC, NBC, and CBS. Devices must be submitted and onboarded in the context of only one of those three accounts.

Onboarding CSV template and validation

The CSV template contains placeholders for all supported information for your network devices. After downloading the template, populate it with values for each category in the template for each device. The information you provide will first be validated during the upload, recording basic errors such as duplicate device names and valid serial numbers.
Devices that are onboarded error-free will show a green check, and those with validation errors will show a red x. To correct an identified error, you can update the device property in the CSV file and re-submit the file, or click the elipsis at the end of the row. Clicking the elipsis displays an action menu that includes
