Configure an account with view permissions in Container Cluster Management to enable data retrieval from IBM Cloud.

Configure IBM Cloud for Container Cluster Management

Access Rights:
 The account key must have view permissions, and the account must already include Kubernetes clusters. To enable this, create a new key, which will be used to configure the account in Container Cluster Management and allow data retrieval from IBM Cloud.
IBM Cloud requires the creation of two keys:
  • API key
  • Classic Infrastructure Cloud key
Follow this procedure to create an API key:
  1. Log in to your IBMCloud account. and
  2. Select the
    Manage and Access (IAM)
  3. Select the
    API keys
     →
    Create an IBM Cloud API key
  4. In the Create API Key dialog box, enter a name for the key and provide a description outlining its intended use and purpose.
  5. Click
    Create
    . Your API Key is created successfully. Please copy & save it in someplace safe.
Follow this procedure to create a Classic Infrastructure Cloud key:
  1. Navigate to
    Manage
     →
    Access (IAM)
     →
    API keys
    , and select
    Classic infrastructure API keys
    .
  2. Click
    Create a classic infrastructure key
    . The API key is created. Copy or download the API key, and save it in a safe place.
  3. Obtain the IBM Cloud
    Classic Infrastructure Username
    : click
    Manage
     →
    Access (IAM)
     →
    Users
    .
  4. Select the user from the list. The User details tab of the Manage user page is displayed. The
    Classic Infrastructure Username
     value, which is a combination of a number_emailID is listed under VPN Password section.
  5. To obtain an
    Account ID
    , go to
    Manage
     →
    Account
    →
     select
    Account Settings
     in the navigation menu on the left, and note the
    ID
    . This ID must be entered in the
    Account Number
     field in the connections menu.
At this point, you have successfully configured IBM Cloud to exchange data with the tenant.

IAM connection

Once all configuration steps are completed at the cloud provider level, you must configure the tenant to continue with data exchange in Container Cluster Management.

Pre-requisites

The following items are prerequisite st:
  1. From the Kyndryl Platform landing page, select the Main menu or the
    Manage IAM
     tile.
  2. Select Admin and then,
    IAM
  3. On the IAM screen, select the
    Connections
     tab from the left panel.
  4. Select the
    Add New
     Drop-down menu.
  5. Select the
    Add a Connection
  6. Select the Technology Category as
    Cloud Provider
  7. Select
    IBM Cloud
  8. Enter the
    Account Number
    ,
    Classic Infrastructure Username
    ,
    Classic Infrastructure API Key
    , and
    IBM Cloud API Key
     from the IBM account referred to in the previous section.
  9. Validate your credentials by selecting
    Test connection
  10. Once the connection is successful, select
    Add
     to create a connection.
