The Orchestration Catalog is the primary console for the orchestration of service implementation. It provides a
single pane of glass
for all available Orchestration, Provisioning, and Automation catalog items in Kyndryl Bridge. It is instrumental in Day-0, Day-1, and Day-2 activities related to provisioning, managing, and maintaining other services as a consumer of Kyndryl Bridge.The service provides observability into workflows, input and output parameters, and activities associated with Day-1 and Day-2 activities.
Orchestration Catalog Landing Page
The Orchestration Catalog contains catalog items that can be used individually or combined to perform workflows. Users can browse and manage these catalog items directly from the catalog interface. To access the Orchestration Catalog, open the Bridge menu and navigate to:
Catalogs > Orchestration Catalog
.
On the landing page, catalog items are organized into two main tabs:
Provisioning:
Supports Day‑1 activities such as provisioning and creating environments.
Operations:
Supports Day‑2 activities such as managing and performing actions on provisioned workloads.
Within each tab, catalog items are displayed in two sections:
Account Specific:
Shows catalog items that are already activated for the account.
All:
Shows all available catalog items. Once activated, these items appear in the Account Specific section.
Working with a Catalog Item
On the Orchestration Catalog, each catalog item includes an action button (…). Clicking this button displays available actions depending on the section you are in.
Account-Specific (Provisioning/Operations)
View:
Displays details of the catalog item.
Run:
Starts the process of executing the catalog item.
Deactivate:
Removes activation of the catalog item, making it unavailable for execution in the account.
All (Provisioning/Operations)
View:
Displays details of the catalog item.
Activate:
Begins the initial setup of the catalog item for the account. Once activated, the item appears in the Account-Specific section.
Viewing Catalog Item Details
When you click View on a catalog item, a new page opens showing all details of the selected item. At the top of the page, you will see:
The catalog item title.
A brief description of the item’s purpose.
Below this, you can:
Select and view the available versions of the catalog item. A single item may have multiple versions for use.
Run the catalog item once it has been activated in the account. If the item is not yet activated, the Run button is replaced by Activate.
Finally, the page displays a full description of the catalog item’s purpose, objectives, and capabilities.
Activating Catalog Items
Activation is required before a catalog item can be executed in an account.
Prerequisites:
Administrator access to Orchestration in the target account.
Activation Flow:
All available catalog items are listed in the All Operations/Provisioning section of the Orchestration Catalog.
To activate an item, locate the desired catalog entry, click the action button (…), and select Activate.
The activation process guides the selection of a default version and parameters, configuring the catalog item for account use.
Once activation is complete, the item appears in the Account-Specific section and becomes available for execution.
Executing Catalog Items
Execution of a catalog item requires prior activation by an administrator. Once activated, the item appears in the Account-Specific section of the Orchestration Catalog.
Prerequisites:
Administrator or operator access to Orchestration in the target account.
Execution Flow:
Locate the catalog item in the Account section.
Click the action button (…) and select Run.
Follow the execution steps:
Execution details:
Select the required version and channel connection (configured in Connections Manager).
Parameters/Target:
Depending on the catalog item type (Provisioning or Operations), validate and customize parameters. Enter targets such as hosts, devices, or groups. Multiple host names must be separated by commas.
Review & Submit:
Review all inputs and confirm execution by selecting Run.
After submission, the workflow execution is triggered, and the system routes to the Workflow Executions view.
