Monitoring - KPI Utilization

Acquire a basic understanding of the data presented on the Monitoring - KPI Utilization page.
The Monitoring - KPI Utilization page presents data visualizations that enable an understanding of KPIs associated with network devices. In addition to data visualizations, the page provides a quick filter to enable the anrrowing of data without complex queries. Parameters include the following:
  • Customer Name: Devices owned by specific customers.
  • GSMA Code: Devices associated with a specific GSMA code.
  • Data Source: Any supported data source used to track network devices and operating systems.
  • Node Name: Specify a node by name.
  • Device Type:Specify a device type.
  • Interface Name: Specify a supported interface.
Each parameter allows a boolean Include/Exclude option. Click
Include
to limit the result to include your selection. Click
Exclude
to limit the result to exclude your selection.
Hover over the right upper corner to to present the display options icon (elipsis). The following display options for the visualization are supported:
  • Settings: Apply a custom time range or other options.
  • Inspect: Download a report.
  • Maximize: Enlarge the visualization to see more information. The control toggles to Minimize.
The page presents the following data visualizations:
  • KPI Summary
    • Nodes Down: The number of Solarwinds nodes that were down during.
    • Hardware Failure: The number of devices with a Critical hardware status.
    • BGP Down: The number of devices reporting idle, indicating a BPG (Border Portal Gateway) failure, preventing the devices from contacting peers.

    • InErrors: The number of input errors on devices.
    • OutErrors: The number of output errors on devices.
    • InDiscards: Tthe number of inbound packets dropped by devices.
    • OutDiscards: Tthe number of outbound packets dropped by devices.
    • CPUUsage:
    • CPU Usage: A table that indicates the cpu usage by number of devices (nodes), number of associated records, and the percentage of the total for each usage class as follows:
      • Less than 70%
      • Between 70% and 85%
      • Greater than 85%
    • CPU Usage Hosts: CPU utilization per host, identified by hostname; includes all hosts.
    • Memory Usage: A table that indicates the memory usage by number of devices (nodes), number of associated records, and the percentage of the total for each usage class as follows:
      • Less than 70%
      • Between 70% and 85%
      • Greater than 85%
    • Memory Usage Hosts: Memory utilization per host, identified by hostname; includes all hosts.
Tx_Interface usage: A table that indicates interface Tx utilization by number of interfaces, number of associated records, and the percentage of the total for each usage class as follows:
      • Less than 70%
      • Between 70% and 85%
      • Greater than 85%
    • Tx_interface usage: A table that provides details about all outbound interface communications, including the number of interfaces and records, by utilization percentage as follows:
      • Less than 70%
      • Between 70% and 85%
      • Greater than 85%
    • Solarwinds KPIUtilization - TX Usage Interfaces: A table that provides details regarding nodes that engaged outbound communications with Solarwinds.
    • SolarWindss KPIUtilization - Rx_Inerfaces: A table that provides details about inbound Interface communications, including the number of interfaces and records, by utilization percentage as follows:
      • Less than 70%
      • Between 70% and 85%
      • Greater than 85%
    • RX Usage Interfaces: A table that provides details regarding all nodes that engaged inbound communications.
  • KPIUtilzation:
    • Top Nodes - CPUUtilization: A list of all nodes by name in descending order of CPU utilization.
    • Top Nodes - Memory Utilization: A list of all nodes by name in descending order of memory utilization.
    • Top Interfaces Tx_Interface Utilization: A list of all interfaces by name in descending order of outbound communicaitons.
    • Top Interfaces - Rx_Interface Utilization: A list of all interfaces by name in descending order of outbound communicaitons.
