Common Actions

The Common Actions enable managed service providers and direct enterprise customers to manage and operate their resources.
Common Actions allow you to manage your resources using a simple action or orchestration of actions. Setting actions for all your resources allows you to complete several processes at one time so you can handle transactions easily.  This tool helps to remove most of the human error from processes as it’s designed to follow specific rules. Additionally. It collects data on everything it does, filing it into reports that you can analyze and to identify issues in your processes you might not have noticed.
This will help check for bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and slow areas. You can find the history of all actions executed in the Actions History page. There, you can also retry actions that were unsuccessful due to network connection.
Here are the cloud providers currently supported by Common Actions:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • IBM Cloud
  • Microsoft™ Azure
Common Actions can improve the transaction process by importing predefined or customized operations for different resources. After fully enabling actions, users can execute actions with just one click, avoiding manual and repetitive work. The Actions dashboard allows to filter items based on the application they are affiliated to, providing a general state of the resource inventory. Thanks to this, you can view and manage resources dedicated to a specific service from one single place.
To understand which roles and permissions are required, see roles and permissions.
Actions need to be configured before you can manage actions from the user interface as resources need to be linked to an action (or set of actions).  There are 2 main steps to fully enable Actions. The first step is to properly configure the actions account. Then, you can import actions, from an external source, local source, or discovery.
