DevOps Intelligence User Interface

DevOps Intelligence offers a unified user interface with common elements throughout the service. The information here assists users with a proficient understanding of user interface elements, enabling an efficient navigation and a clear understanding of the data it presents.

Introduction

Upon navigating to DevOps Intelligence, the service presents an Overview page with nine graphic displays that present the state of the following:
  • Secure alerts
  • DevOps performance metrics:
    • Change lead time
    • Deployment frequency
  • Security posture
  • Develop
  • Issues and defects
  • Build
  • Test
  • Deploy
Deployment status
Depending on your selections from these filters, the data displayed in the widgets varies, and some widgets may show the message
“No Data Available”
, which means there is no recent data available for your selection.
Refer to the Managing Connections page for details on how to configure the connections that will allow data to be viewed in the aforementioned displays. More detailed data is available at the following modules, which are documented at the respective links for each:

DevOps Intelligence user interface elements

The DevOps Intelligence user interface presents several universal elements. You will find each of these elements on every page, beginning with a universal header:
The header contains the following elements:
  • Bread crumbs
    (selectable for ease of navigation).
  • The title
    Overview
    .
  • Select duration (duration filter):
    The historical data in days. A drop down menu enables the selection of the duration (by default the selection will be set to 7 Days):
    • 1 Day
    • 7 Days
    • 14 Days
    • 30 Days
    • 60 Days
    • 90 Days
    • 180 Days
    • Custom date selection
  • A date and time stamp (corresponding to the duration selected).
  • Dashboard view:
    The Dashboard view enables viewing control of the landing page. Among other options, you can choose the amount of data to display:
    • All Data:
      choose this option to view all the data in accordance with the historical timeframe you selected in
      Selection duration
      .
    • 60 days:
      The Overivew page displays up to 60 days of the data you selected in
      Selection duration
      . If you selected 60 days or fewer, the page displays all data. If you selected more than 60 days, only the last 60 days are displayed.
    • AC-DurationTest:
      All data in the acceptance test pipeline.
    • Dashboard view filter (toggle icon):
      As you filter data in the page, you have the option of saving the current dashboard view. When the view is saved you can click the toggle icon on the Dashboard view to display dashboard options from a drop-down list, and further filter it by application:
      • Dashboards:
        Select a dashboard to view data specific to applications.
      • Applications:
        Select the applications you want to view for the selected dashboard. Comprehend the health of cloud services such as CAM and Enterprise Marketplace.
  • View settings (dashboard view controls):
    • Delete View:
      After saving a dashboard view, you can delete it by selecting the Dashboard view and then clicking the
      Delete View
      button.
    • Clear View:
      After filtering data in the current view, you can clear the filters and return the dashboard to the default view by clicking
      Clear View
      .
    • Update View:
      After changing the filte settings in the current dashboard, you can you can update the current dashboard view by clicking
      Update View
      .
    • Save New View:
      After filtering data you can save the current dashboard view with a name for later reference using the previously described
      Dashboard View
      feature by clicking
      Save New View
      .
Display details:
Each display contains an arrow in the upper right corner. Click the arrow to display a detailed data presentation. To return to the previous view, click the page title in the breadcrumbs or the page listing in the left navigation bar.

Table views

In some detail views, the application displays tabular data and, in that circumstance, table controls, labeled table settings, are available. The application displays a settings
Toggle
icon (gear) above the top right corner of the of the table. Click the
Toggle
icon to display the available table settings.
The table settings comprise a matrix of check boxes, which are filters that determine what data is displayed in the table, including whole columns. click the checkboxes to make any necessary adjustments and click one of the following buttons:
  • Cancel
    to abort your selections
  • Reset
    to return the settings to their default values
  • Apply
    to apply your changes
A
Search
icon (magnifying glass) is available directly to the left of the gear icon. To search the table for a string, click the
Search
icon. The application displays a search field in which you can enter a search string such as an application name. Enter a string. The table automatically display only entries containing that string.To terminate the search display, click the
x
, which has replaced the
Search
, next to the
Toggle
icon.

Navigation panel (left navigation bar)

DevOps Intelligence is the access point for the seven modules enumerated in the Introduction of this page. To access these modules, hover the mouse cursor over the home icon, to reveal navigation options within DevOps Intelligence.
