Configure IBM Cloud for Container Cluster Management
Access Rights:
The Account(Key) should have view permission, and the account should have k8s clusters already created. For that, we need to create a new key; it will be used to create and configure an account on
Container Cluster Management
to pull data from
IBM Cloud
.
The IBM Cloud requires the following steps to create the appropriate Secret Key account:
On the Create API key dialog box, enter the key Name and some description about where the key will be used and the purpose of creating the key; select the
Create
button.
Step 4:
Your API Key is created successfully. Please copy & save it in someplace safe.
Step 5:
To create a
Classic Infrastructure API Key
, go to
Manage
->
Access (IAM)
->
API keys
, and select
Classic infrastructure API keys
as shown below.
Step 6:
Click
Create a classic infrastructure key
. The API key is created. Copy or download the API key, and save it in a safe place.
Step 7:
To obtain the IBM Cloud
Classic Infrastructure Username
, click
Manage
->
Access (IAM)
->
Users
.
Step 8:
Select the user from the list. The User details tab of the Manage user page is displayed. The
Classic Infrastructure Username
value, which is a combination of a number_emailID is listed under VPN Password section.
Step 9:
To obtain
Account ID
, go to
Manage
->
Account
->
select
Account Settings
in the navigation menu on the left note down the
ID
. This ID must be entered in the Account Number field in the connections menu described below.
At this point, you have successfully configured IBM Cloud to exchange data with the tenant.
IAM connection
Once all configuration steps have been completed at a cloud provider level, you must configure the tenant to continue with the data exchange for cluster management.
Pre-requisites
Complete configuration on the Cloud Provider console:
From the Kyndryl Platform landing page, select the Main menu or the
Manage IAM
tile.
Select Admin and then,
IAM
On the IAM screen, select the
Connections
tab from the left panel.
Select the
Add New
Drop-down menu.
Select the
Add a Connection
Select the Technology Category as
Cloud Provider
Select
IBM Cloud
Enter the
Account Number
,
Classic Infrastructure Username
,
Classic Infrastructure API Key
, and
IBM Cloud API Key
from the IBM account referred to in the previous section.
Validate your credentials by selecting
Test connection
Once the connection is successful, select
Add
to create a connection.
