Common Actions Services

The Common Actions Services (CAS) enable managed service providers and direct enterprise customers to manage and operate their resources
Common Actions Services allow you to manage your resources using a simple action or orchestration of actions. Setting common actions for all your resources allows you to complete several processes at one time so you can handle transactions easily.  This tool helps to remove the vast majority of human error from processes as it’s designed to follow specific rules. Additionally. It collects data on everything it does, filing it into reports that you can analyze and to identify issues in your processes you might not have noticed.
This will help check for bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and slow areas. You can find the history of all actions executed in the Actions History page. There, you can also retry actions that were unsuccessful due to network connection.
There are various ways to perform these actions: Call APIs provided by the providers, use templating technologies like VRA Templates, Cloud Formation templates, Terraform templates, Ansible Tower job templates, Ansible Playbooks, or trigger ticketing systems. CAS will enable to run Ansible Playbooks via Ansible runner or integrate with Ansible Tower. Ansible playbooks will be external to CAS (Git repo).
Common Action Services supports the following cloud providers:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • IBM Cloud
  • Microsoft™ Azure
Actions availability depends on the user's permission, context and the status of a specific resource (Active/Inactive).
