to retrieve and analyze data from aws codebuild, you must first set up and configure an aws connection this connection enables access to aws codebuild information that can be used for reporting, monitoring, and operational improvements access rights ensure the connection includes the following permissions create delete update view to access templates, you must also have the required roles for more information, see aws codebuild configuration docid\ etrkycuwzao2x5fcmi gd configuring aws codebuild for recent customers the steps in this section apply only to customers onboarded on or after 6 june 2024 if you are a legacy customer, refer to the section "configuring aws codebuild for legacy customers use the following steps to configure aws codebuild for your application tool configurations are linked to a specific application and devops phase during setup, you will select both the application and the devops phase that aws codebuild will support click settings & utilities → application configuration to view your existing applications select the application you want to configure, or create a new application in the build row for the selected application, click the overflow menu (vertical ellipsis) select add new tool configuration the add tool configuration form opens for build categories , select build for tool engine , select aws codebuild in the status field, select the build statuses you want to track, such as passed, failed, and in progress click submit to save the configuration onboarding aws codebuild after configuring aws codebuild, onboard the technical service to complete the setup open the overflow menu for the selected application select onboard technical service the onboarding form opens for devops phase , select build for tool engine , select aws codebuild in select connection , choose the connection you want to use in select organization , choose the appropriate organization in select projects , choose the project you want to onboard select the appropriate repository click onboard you are redirected to the application configuration page to verify the configuration, open the overflow menu for the develop phase and select edit/delete tools configuration deleting aws codebuild as a technical service you can remove aws codebuild from an application at any time navigate to settings & utilities → application configuration expand the application to display all associated phases in the build row, click the overflow menu select delete technical service for select tools configured , choose aws codebuild select the appropriate organization select the appropriate project click delete configuring aws codebuild for legacy customers to configure aws codebuild in the kyndryl application, provide an application name, deployment group name, and any additional configuration settings that support your preferred workflow the dashboard uses the status terms passed, failed, and in progress by default, but you can customize these labels to match the terminology used by your team any custom term entered for a status will appear under the corresponding dashboard category in the application, from the main menu , go to section → item → sub item → sub item expand settings & utilities, then select tools configuration select add configuration + to open the add tool configuration form, then complete the following steps from the tool engine dropdown menu, select aws codebuild choose the appropriate connection, technical service, and project name from their respective dropdown menus in the additional configuration for customization section, enter custom terms for the passed, failed, or in progress statuses if you want the dashboard terminology to align with your organization’s preferences select add configuration at the bottom of the form to save your configuration after the configuration is complete, the configuration details are displayed in the table on the configuration page
