Insights details on Unsupported & Nearing-End-of-Support Kubernetes or OpenShift Clusters

Explore insights on managing container clusters running Kubernetes or OpenShift versions that are either unsupported or approaching the end of active support.

Introduction

Explore the interactive tiles section, which displays the count of clusters nearing the End of Active Support, those exceeding the End of Active Support but receiving Maintenance Support, and those surpassing both support stages.
Upon clicking a tile, the table updates with insights and recommendations related to the selected tile. A dropdown with all Kubernetes versions lets users filter the table accordingly. The table includes the following fields:
  • Cluster
    : The cluster's name
  • V
    ersion number
: The current Kubernetes or OpenShift version running on the cluster
  • Active support end date
: The date when active support for the current version ends
  • Maintenance support end date
: The date when maintenance support for the current version ends
  • Recommended date
: The date when the recommendation was generated
By default, the table is sorted by the recommended date. Selecting a row or the overflow menu opens a slider panel with more recommendation details.
Recommendations Slider Panel
This panel provides:
  1. Cluster Name
    : Displayed as the title.
  2. Recommendation
: Based on the Kubernetes or OpenShift version's support status, including:
    • Clusters nearing Active Support end.
    • Clusters with Maintenance Support only.
    • Clusters with No Support.
  3. Current Version
    : Shows the operating version.
  4. Latest Version
: Displays the latest available version.
  5. Active Support End
: Date when active support ends.
  6. Maintenance Support End
: Date when maintenance support ends.
  7. Additional Info
: Link to the current version's changelog.
  8. Recommended Date
    : Date of recommendation issuance.
Pod Deployment Insight Details
The insights details page provides a comprehensive view of resource utilization for the selected cluster, including:
  1. Pod Name
: Name of the pod with recommendations.
  2. Container(s)
: Name of the container(s) involved.
  3. Node
    : Contains IP addresses.
  4. Cluster
: Name of the cluster with the deployed pod.
  5. CPU/Memory Utilization
: Historical average utilization in percentage.
  6. Recommendations
    : Optimizing resource utilization.
  7. Recommended Date
    : Date of recommendation.
Sort the table by recommended date for the latest insights. A percentage range dropdown allows filtering for CPU/Memory utilization.
Sidepanel Details for Pod Deployments
Selecting 'View details' or a table row opens the Sidepanel with:
  1. Container(s)
    : Identifying relevant containers.
  2. Deployment
    : Relevant deployment designation.
  3. Namespace
: Operating namespace of the pod.
  4. Cluster
: Hyperlink to the cluster overview page.
  5. Insight
    : Usage insight based on
  1. the last three months.
  2. CPU/Memory Usage
: Graph of three-month resource utilization data.
  3. Recommendation
    : Suggestions for resource optimization.
