overview simpcon extension templates provide a framework for developing data streaming service integrations that consume, process, and publish data through kafka topics these templates simplify extension development by offering predefined patterns for handling inbound and outbound data streams within the integrated platform the available templates support the following integration scenarios consumer template consumes records from data streaming services, enriches and validates data using client tool mappings, and forwards transformed requests to the elasticsearch instance configured for the target compute zone producer template (source extraction) creates data streaming service producers that extract data from source systems and publish it to kafka topics extensions based on version 3 0 0 and later use the simplified connectors framework running on a chainguard based tomcat image producer template (json input) accepts json formatted data pushed from external source systems and publishes the data to kafka topics for downstream processing producer template (xml input) accepts xml formatted data pushed from external source systems and publishes the data to kafka topics for downstream processing prerequisites before deploying this extension, the target organizational unit (ou) must be onboarded to bridge known problems and limitations the extension supports only incident ticketing sources use separate applications or assets for other endpoint integrations
