## Migration overview

The Bridge Automation Service (BAS) provides a modern orchestration platform for automation workflows, catalogs, schedules, and events previously managed in Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations Automation Service (AS).

This guide covers the activities required after migration, including:

- Reviewing migration reports
- Configuring CACF credentials
- Testing and validating migrated assets
- Configuring IAM access
- Enabling automation

The guide also introduces BAS workflow authoring capabilities, which can be used to create new workflows and expand automation use cases.

## Migration process

The migration process consists of the following high-level phases:

## Customer account segmentation and migration tracking

The AS to BAS migration report provides an account-level view of migration readiness and progress.

Customer accounts are grouped into migration lanes based on:

- Current AS usage
- GSMA configuration
- Planned EPSA adoption

This segmentation helps identify the appropriate migration path and track migration activities for each account.

The report provides visibility into whether an account contains:

- Public catalogs
- Private catalogs
- Events
- Schedules

The report also tracks account progress through the following migration phases:

- Pre-Migration
- Migration
- Post-Migration

Each phase displays the current migration stage and any remaining activities required to complete the migration.
