# Request access for Kyndryl Bridge accounts

Additionally, users can request access if they are not currently a member of an account through one of the following two key flows:

- **(Scope 1) Request access to a new Bridge account** (for users who are not members of the account).
- **(Scope 2) Request access to different access groups** (for users who need access to additional access groups in an account they already belong to).

Users **are **allowed to search for any account in the "Request Access" flow irrespective of whether user already has access to the tenant or not.

## Requesting access to a new Bridge account or request access to a different Access Group within an account

This request allows users who are not currently members of a Kyndryl Bridge account to request access to that account.

Follow these steps to initiate an access request to a Kyndryl Bridge or AIOps account that you are not currently a member of:

1. From the Access Request Management page, click **Request Access.**
2. Locate the account that you want to access. You can **search** for an account by name or use the **Country **and **Segment ID** filters to narrow the list of available accounts and click **Next.**
3. Select the access groups that you want to join for the selected account. You can request access to one or more access groups as part of the same access request.

Access groups are organized into two categories:

:::Paragraph{listStyleType="disc" indent="2"}
**Bridge Access Groups **for platform-level access.
:::

:::Paragraph{listStyleType="disc" indent="2"}
**Service Access Groups** for service-specific access. For the Service Groups, use the **Filter by service name **option to narrow the list of access groups displayed in the table.
:::

To access the Kyndryl Bridge functionality, users must belong to at least one Bridge Access Group. To ensure this requirement is met, the **Bridge Viewer** access group is selected by default when submitting an access request; this can be unselected as needed. The Bridge Viewer access group provides the minimum level of access required to use the Kyndryl Bridge functionality.

4. Enter a **business justification** (500 character minimum) for the access request and click **Next**.
5. Review the request summary and click **Submit**.

The Edit Access workflow creates a new access request for the selected account and does not modify previously submitted requests. If a submitted request is not reviewed by an account administrator within **30 days** of submission, its status is automatically updated to **Expired**.

Whenever an access request is submitted, the request is routed to the appropriate approver for review, and an email notification is sent to notify the approver of the new access request.

# Requestor email notifications

Requestors receive **email** notifications throughout the access request lifecycle to help them track the status of their requests and stay informed of any required actions.

Requestors receive email notifications when:

- The access request is **approved**.
- The access request is **rejected**, along with **reason for rejection**.
- The access request is **expired**.

The email contains the following information:

- Account name
- Account ID
- Approved access groups
- Country
- A direct link to the approved or rejected access request that routes users to the **My Accounts **page.
- Contact information for Kyndryl Bridge Support.
